Nigeria economy

Last year many people lost their lives just because they were celebrating buhari's victory, after he was announced the winner of the 2015 election and one foolish man lied to him self and some foolish people that he trecked from lagos to abuja just to congratulate buhari for being successful, after the celebration what comes next ? Dollar rise, the price of a bag of rice is as good as one school fee for a semester, Nigeria was finding it difficult to sponsor our representative who represented us in the Olympics, our economic is nothing to write home, death rate increase and now the man who promise us change dule is traveling from one country to the other.

We are just in the change and things are like this we wonder if we crawl to dule what will become of us so we are all appealing to that man who claimed he trecked from lagos to abuja to do the nation Nigeria a favor by trecking to United State of America and ask for their help because buhari has already spend the transport fare traveling in advanced.

Nigeria where are we heading to ? Please we should be careful when it comes to choosing a leader. If this is true and you love Nigeria please send this message to just two people only, GOD BLESS NIGERIA AMEN.

Lagos state

LAGOS has been described as the third worst city on earth to live because of its congestion and the limited availability of social amenities according to the 2016 Global Liveability Index just published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

In the survey that was made public yesterday, Lagos placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey, just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus.

In the document, the liveability survey looked at which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions reviewing stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

An EIU spokesman said: “Of the poorer-scoring cities, 13 continue to occupy the verybottom tier of liveability, where ratings fall below 50% and most aspects of living are severely restricted. Continued threats from groups like Boko Haram acts as a constraintto improving stability in Lagos.”

Escalations in hostilities in Libya prompted a sharp decline in liveability in Tripoli, according to the report, while Damascus, although seeing a stabilisation in its decline remained rooted to the bottom.

The top five best countries to live in according to the report, remained unchanged from last year and include Melbourne, Australia; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada and Calgary, Canada.Of the five categories, Lagos scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure but scored lowest in stability.

Three other African cities joined Lagos at thebottom rung of the liveable cities, with Douala, Cameroun; Harare, Zimbabwe and Algiers, Algeria ranking 132nd, 133rd and 134th respectively.

While no African city made it to the top 10 most liveable cities, five were in the 10 least liveable cities.

This ranking of Lagos among the least liveable cities of the world comes amidst a massive revenue drive and huge infrastructure investment by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.Lagos has consistently ranked in the 10 least liveable cities since 2011, ranking 137thout of 140 in that year.

It ranked 138th in 2012 and then remained at 137th until this year.

Shocking story as woman shot to dead in police academy training

A civilian woman has been shot and killed by
an officer during a training exercise at a police
academy in Florida.

Mary Knowlton was taking part in a "shoot/
don't shoot" role play when she was shot in
front of around 34 people on Tuesday evening,
a spokesman for the Punta Gorda Police
Department said.

Ms Knowlton was a student at the
force's Citizen Police Academy, which offers a
free eight-session course for people from the
community who want to learn about the
police and public service, according to the
department's website.

The demonstration at the police
headquarters was aimed at teaching the class
about making decisions "using simulated lethal
force".

Ms Knowlton was "mistakenly struck" with a
live round during lesson's "first scenario",
according to police chief Thomas Lewis.
She was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital
where she was pronounced dead, the
department said.

The police officer involved has not been
identified and has been put on administrative

leave.

RIO2016

Swedish record.

Sarah Sjöström became the first Swedish woman
to win Olympic swimming gold on Sunday and
she did it in style, setting a world record in the
100m butterfly.

Sjöström touched in 55.48sec, lowering the mark
of 55.64 she set at the World Championships last
August in Kazan, Russia -- where she broke the
record twice.

"I knew that when I had a good turn -- I came in
with my hands perfect in the turn -- I knew it
would be hard for the others to swim faster,"
Sjöström said.

Silver medallist Penny Oleksiak of Canada and
American bronze medallist Dana Vollmer were a
study in contrasts -- Oleksiak a 16-year-old
Canadian and Vollmer the 28-year-old London
gold medallist.

Neither had an answer for Sjöström on Sunday,
Oleksiak clocking 56.46sec and Vollmer -- who
took time off after her London triumph to start a
family and has a 17-month-old son, Arlen --
finished in 56.63.

Sjöström, who was fifth in the 100m fly in
London, has dominated the event since 2013.
But she admitted that even with European titles,
long- and short-course world titles and world
records in both long- and short-course, she
sometimes doubted she would snag that elusive
Olympic gold.

"Of course, all the time," she said. "It's like an
every day struggle."

RIO2016

What's a great victory for nigeria U23 have advance to the quarterfinal
of the ongoing Olympic men’s football
tournament after a 1-0 win over Sweden at
the Arena Amazonia in Manaus on Sunday
night.

Sadiq Umar’s header was all the African
champions became the first country to reach
the last eight after narrow win over the
European champions.

Nigeria started off impressively showing
greater intent in attack as they pushed
forward in search of goals early while the
European U21 champions were content to
soak up the pressure.

Goalkeeper Andreas Linde was the busier on
the night as Oghenekaro Etebo forced him to
make a double save following a miss by
Simon Tibbling at the other end.

Etebo continued to trouble the young Blagult
backline with the support of front men Imoh
Ezekiel and the lanky Sadiq.

It would take 39 minutes for Nigeria to finally
break the deadlock when Sadiq got onto the
end of a pinpoint cross into the Swedish area
by full back Stanley Amuzie.

The AS Roma forward was right on target as
he nodded his side ahead in a half where
they shaved possession by 68 percent.
The Nigerians coasted in the second half but
they could not convert their chances with
Etebo, scorer of four goals against Japan, left
frustrated with his inability to beat Linde.
A late rally from the Swedes led by Joakim
Nilsson met a sturdy Nigeria central defence
marshaled by William Ekong and Muenfuh
Sincere.

Nigeria’s all round play was much better
than against Japan as Mikel John Obi,
Azubuike Okechukwu and Usman Muhammed
kept the opponents in check.

Mikel’s turns
and swift runs gave the attack the extra man
as the Chelsea star continued to influence
proceedings until he was subbed off late on.

With six points from the first two group
matches, Nigeria have qualified for the
quarter finals ahead of their final game
against Colombia.

Sweden will take on Japan in the last game
for a chance to reach the knock out stage.

Thought

A few thoughts for today....

1. Can you cry under water ?

2. Do fishes ever get thirsty ?

3. Why don’t birds fall off trees when they sleep ?

4. Why is it called building when it is already
built ?

5. When they say dog food is new and improved,
who tastes it ?

6. “I Love You” is not a question then why does it
need an answer?

7. Why does round pizza come in a square box ?

8. Why doesn’t glue stick to its bottle ?

9. If money doesn’t grow on trees then why do
banks have branches ? Don't be confused!

Remember that, nothing in nature lives for itself.

Rivers don't drink their own water.

Trees don't eat their own fruit.

The Sun doesn't
produce heat for itself, and the moon never goes
on a honeymoon.

Living for Others is the Rule of Nature.

Be each others keeper and be glorious..

Be a blessing to others
Have a blessed day everyone.

EFCC officer in operation

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
NDLEA, has recovered 2,592kgs of codeine and
1,988kgs of Tramadol in warehouses in Kano
State and also taken into custody a Malian and
four Nigerians in connection with the
psychotropic drugs.
Spokesperson of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju,
told newsmen yesterday that 2,592kgs of codeine
and 1,988kgs of Tramadol were recovered from
five secret warehouses located within the
metropolis by officers of the State command.
He said, “This arrest is part of efforts to reduce
the sales and demand for psychotropic
substances in the state.

The State Commander of the NDLEA, Hamza
Umar, identified the suspects as Ikechukwu
Ukwuoma (34), Nura Ibrahim (30) and Zakari
Muhammadi, a Malian.

According to him, Ukwuoma was arrested with
2,010kgs of codeine cough syrup, Ibrahim with
886kg of Tramadol and Muhammadi with 850kg
of Tramadol.

Other suspects, Earnest Asogwa (34), Ikenna
Osuizugba (34), were apprehended with 582kg of
codeine and 252kg of Tramadol respectively.
The arrests and seizures were said to have
become possible following an intelligence report
about the activities of the suspects.

Are You A One Minute Man?

“The abuse of psychotropic drugs like codeine
and Tramadol is prevalent among the youth and
married women in the state.

“It is common to see iced bottles of codeine
instead of beverage drinks in a gathering of
young people,”
Hamza stated.

Ukwuoma, a secondary school certificate holder
and father of three, is one of the major
distributors of codeine cough syrups in the state.
The Imo State indigene told NDLEA officials that
he realised he could make a lot of money dealing
in codeine more than any other business.

“The drug sells fast and I was only interested in
the profit because the price of codeine in Kano is
twice the cost price in the east.

“I did not know how the officers discovered my
warehouse where the drugs were kept,” he said.
Ibrahim who hails from Nasarawa Local
Government Area of Kano State, also said he
was attracted by how lucrative the sale of the
Tramadol was in the state.

The Malian, Muhammadi, blamed his friends for
his involvement in drugs.

Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Col.
Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.) said that
the agency will intensify its sensitisation
campaign programmes in the state.
“This is one important way of reducing the
demand and supply for both codeine and
Tramadol tablet by youths.

“The agency will continue to do its best in
protecting the health and future of these youths,”
Abdallah stated.

Etebo needs gold medal not a top scorer

The four goal –hero in the 5-4 victory of the Nigeria U-23 team against Japan, Oghenekaro Etebo has said his target is to help the team win the gold rather than pursuing the highest goal scorer award.

Speaking at the post match press conference, Etebo who was given the match ball after the game, said: "Scoring all the goals in this competition and not winning the gold medal would have amounted to a waste of effort and that's not my target.

Yes, it would be great to see my efforts contributing to the success of the team, but if it will not lead us to the gold, then I don't want it.

"Speaking further, Etebo disclosed thatthe motivating factor in the team is Coach Siasia who has played the role of a father to the players even in times when they don't believe they can do it, and added that the players are motivated to win for him.Calling on Nigerians to continue to support them, the Portugal based footballer said they are happy to putsmiles on the faces of Nigerians who they know were awake all night to watch them play the Japanese.

Shocking railing collapsed @ snoop Dogg concert

At least 10 people have been injured when a
railing collapsed during a Snoop Dogg and Wiz
Khalifa concert in New Jersey.
The railing was separating concertgoers from the
stage during the event at the BB&T Pavilion in
Camden.

Several people fell on to a concrete walkway
when the barrier collapsed around 10.30pm local
time on Friday.

Why Nigeria logo is not in Olympic Jersey

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)’s logo, was conspicuously missing on the jerseys ofthe Dream Team VI, as stipulated by the rules of the International Olympic Committee(IOC).Samson Siasia’s boys debuted the new all-green kits during their 5-4 win over Japan on Friday in Manaus.

“In the Olympic Games, the teams play with the National Olympic Committee logos. This is according to the rules of the IOC,” Nike VP for Africa, Tina Salminen told Goal.

The controversy arose, because the NFF unveiled the new kits with the federation’s logo well placed on the left breast. But IOC does not allow logos on shirts during Olympics.

“One national flag or NOC emblem, with a maximum size of 25cm2, must be positioned at chest level on the front of the shirt.

It shall not limit the legibility of the number positioned on the front of the shirt,” the IOC wrote in its Rio 2016 guidelines on use of emblems.

“On each shirt sleeve, between the shoulder point and the elbow point, the teams may display the national flag or NOC emblem once to a maximum size of 25cm2. The national flag or NOC emblem may also be displayed in the collar zone to a maximum size of 15cm2. The national fag or NOC emblem may be displayed on the front of theshorts on one leg to a maximum size of 25cm2.

”The IOC is also strict about the submission of team shirts to Fifa for inspection ahead ofthe Olympic Games so that no country floutsits laws.
