Femi Adebayo speaks about how he sold some of is properties to produce Jagun Jagun movie.

Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo Salami has opened up on the action he went to bring Jagun Jagun, his newest movie, to life.

In an interview with the press, the box office King revealed that he sold his properties to fund the movie because he didn’t want to seek help from financial institutions and individuals.

He disclosed that Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion naira project, though, he don't disclose actual amount he spent on funding the project.

I used the proceeds of Ageshinkole to produce Jagun Jagun. I was working on not getting funded by finance houses and individuals. At a point, I was out of finance and because I had faith that the project would work, I sold my properties”.

When he did King of Thieves, he knew he was going to beat it with his next project, but now he doesn’t have such confidence.

Femi Adebayo also spoke on how he built the warrior school from scratch.

“We built from scratch the warrior school. We were forced with the challenge of purchasing that land, we wanted to own the land. And at a point, we had an agreement and paid for it, but the children of the owner of the land changed their minds about the land sale. We have built the school halfway when the children who came from Lagos told us to stop. They were ready to destroy all that we built and that held us up for almost a week, going to the Police station and Obas appealing to them and we were told to only shoot there and not buy it.

Speaking about his inspiration, he said, “What inspired the story of Jagun Jagun is the youth and environment of Nigeria.

I use the movie to pass across a social message to the youths and wanted to do it culturally”.

Nigerian Labour Congress

Fuel Hike: It will be indefinite nationwide strike without notice - NLC President, Ajaero to federal government.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Monday had warned that its members will be going on a nationwide strike action without any formal notice to the Federal Government of Nigeria if there will be another increase in the pump price of fuel while the ongoing negotiations are not concluded and palliatives had not been put in place first.

NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, said this at the ongoing African Alliance of Trade Unions meeting in Abuja.

Reacting to the advice of the Registrar of Trade Unions on how labour should conduct themselves as they carry out their responsibilities of protecting the interest of workers and Nigerians by extension, Comrade Ajaero, pleaded with the Federal government to change “All the bad economic policies that make our wages next to nothing.

“As we’re here now. They’re contemplating increasing the pump price of petroleum products. But the Minister of Labour for some time now, will only go to the Minister of Justice to come up with an injunction to hold the hands of labour not to respond. They have started floating ideas of a likely increase in the price of petroleum products.

“But let me say this. Nigeria workers will not give any strike notice. If we have not addressed the consequences of the last two increases in fuel pump price, and we wake up from asleep to hear that they have tampered with the fuel pump price again.”

Comrade Ajaero went on to say; “If you check those policies that lead to inflation, and devaluation of the currency, we will be comfortable even where we are. if the naira is at par with the dollar today, we will ask you to leave the minimum wage at 30,000.

“If inflation is checked to zero, we will ask you to leave things the way they are. But inflation is flying, and by the admittance of the National Bureau of Statistics, we have over 133 million Nigerians that are very poor. I think these are the issues Government should address. If we go for wage increase tomorrow, the inflation that will follow suit will destroy it.”
